instructions: unscrew end cap counterclockwise from base. Remove the battery compartment from the barrel of the flashlight. Remove old batteries and replace with 3 new "aaa" size alkaline batteries according to polarity indicated within each battery slot (each battery negative end against each spring). Insert battery compartment into the barrel of the flashlight positive end first. Replace end cap turning clockwise until secure. Remove batteries if flashlight will not be used over extended period of time.
